Every window we manufacture is built on GEALAN profile systems developed in Germany. Three technologies make a real difference to insulation, stability and appearance.
IKD® — intensive core insulation
With IKD®, the profile chambers are filled with insulating foam directly in the extrusion plant. The result is outstanding heat insulation without hand-fitted inserts — windows that already meet tomorrow’s energy requirements and noticeably reduce heating and cooling costs.
- Profiles arrive pre-filled with foam — consistent quality in every window
- Much better Uf values, up to passive-house level
- Combined with STV®, standard window sizes need no steel reinforcement — lighter elements, easier installation
- Fully recyclable: the foam is held by pressure, not glue, and separates when the profile is cut
- GEALAN pioneered factory foam filling and launched the first foam-filled profiles in 2010
STV® — static dry glazing
STV® bonds the glass pane to the sash with a special adhesive tape that is already integrated in the profile. The stiffness of the pane is transferred to the sash, making the whole window more stable.
- Larger elements than ever — floor-to-ceiling sashes up to 2.40–2.50 m
- Standard-size white windows (1.50 × 1.50 m, French windows 1.10 × 2.30 m) can be built without steel — improving Uf by up to 0.2 W/(m²K)
- Sashes stay square: far less adjustment and re-adjustment over the years
- Lower weight makes installation easier
- All STV® components are tested to RAL requirements for bonded constructions
GEALAN-acrylcolor® — colour that lasts for decades
In co-extrusion, the white PVC profile is permanently fused with a thin layer of coloured PMMA (acrylic glass — the material used in car lights and high-end interiors). It is not a paint or a foil, so it cannot peel or chip. Brushing gives the surface a unique, silky matt sheen.
- Durable — PVC and PMMA are inseparably bonded
- Scratch-resistant — a hard acrylic layer; small scratches can simply be polished out
- Weatherproof and lightfast — colour and texture stay unchanged for decades, even in strong sun
- Dirt-resistant — the homogeneous surface stays clean and elegant
- Exclusive metallic colours and a dark base body for fully dark windows
- Available with a recycled core (tri-extrusion) for a lower CO₂ footprint
